POSITION TITLE: Director, Legal Affairs and Compliance (Employment Litigation, Advice and Counsel)
LOCATION: San Diego, CA
COMPENSATION: $180,000 - $215,000 Annually
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director, Legal Affairs and Compliance (Employment Litigation, Advice and Counsel) is a key member of the Legal team, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This critical role serves as the primary advisor on employment-related legal matters, with a strong emphasis on managing complex litigation and regulatory compliance across the organization’s operations. The Director will drive strategic legal initiatives focused on minimizing risk, ensuring compliance with rapidly evolving federal, state, and local employment laws, and proactively advising the business and HR partners on a wide range of employment-related matters. The role requires deep experience in managing employment litigation and pre-litigation disputes, conducting internal investigations, and navigating high-stakes issues such as terminations, whistleblower claims, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour compliance. This position requires strong expertise in employment law, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to legal risk management in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
