John Quinn, CEO of Photonomi Global Group a.r.l., is an electronic engineering and applied finance graduate, and a serial entrepreneur in disruptive technology startups, having founded or had significant leadership roles in over ten blue-chip startups over the last 25 years. He has been recognised by the Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2002, the UK Business Innovation Awards in 2011, several international innovation awards in semiconductor and nanotechnology since 2003 and shortlisted for five International “Innovation of the Year” awards in 2014 and 2015. In the early 1990’s, John established world semiconductor nanotech benchmarks for the fabrication of CD-ROM, DVD and Blu-Ray and was technology lead for the conversion of Microsoft from floppy disc to CD-ROM for the release of Windows 95.

A single-system installation can be less costly and complex than an approach that requires multiple fabric and legacy renewable upgrades. Solar PV and Heat Pump combos currently make up the majority of renewable solutions on new housing. However, the DEAP or SAP calculation framework, if used correctly, shows that a single-system installation can offer superior results. Using certified SEAI/SAP data on a retrofit of a standard concrete block bungalow, the case for this approach will be explained and supported by live telemetry of the system performance, and with an explanation of the financial costings and payback.
