About Us

LWK Enterprises is a Texas-based leader in heavy-duty truck parts and service, with 5 locations across the state. We specialize in providing heavy duty truck parts, drivetrain, hydraulic, telematics, and custom service solutions for truck owners, fleets, municipalities, and industrial operations. What sets us apart is our commitment to quality, speed, and people.

Our experienced team builds custom driveshafts, differentials, and transmissions in-house—and we’re proud to invest in the next generation of technicians through hands-on internships and mentorship.

This internship provides hands-on training in disassembling and rebuilding Eaton, Spicer, and Meritor transmissions and differentials, under the guidance of experienced technicians. You’ll learn how to inspect, clean, measure, and reassemble critical drivetrain components while gaining real-world experience in a fast-paced shop environment. This is a unique opportunity to build mechanical skills, learn industry standards, and get your foot in the door with a company that keeps America moving.

• Identify key components of transmissions and differentials, including gears, bearings, seals, and housings

• Recognize wear patterns, damage, and determine part reusability

• Safely disassemble and reassemble units following proper procedures and torque specs

• Perform precision measurements such as backlash, gear mesh, and endplay

• Use specialty tools like micrometers, dial indicators, pullers, and presses

• Follow strict safety practices when handling heavy components and operating shop equipment

• Assist in diagnosing issues like vibration, noise, or shifting problems

• Support quality control checks, including gear contact patterns and shaft alignment

• Learn how to adapt builds for custom or performance applications

• Match specifications to OEM standards or customer requirements

• Track build notes, parts usage, and inspection results according to SOPs

• Understand how rebuilds impact uptime, safety, and performance across various industries

Preferred Skills

• Mechanical Aptitude with an understanding of gears, torque, and drivetrain systems

• Comfort with tools, disassembly/reassembly, and measuring equipment

• Attention to Detail for accurate inspections, torque specs, and part alignment

• Listens well, asks questions, and documents work clearly

• Eager to grow, take direction, and build long-term skills

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a diesel tech, automotive, or mechanical program (preferred but not required)
