Job Description

Skills and Experience:

This is a mid- to senior-level position responsible for leading large engineering projects or independently managing smaller projects, with a strong emphasis on data center and industrial facility work. The role includes comprehensive engineering cost control and scheduling responsibilities.

The successful candidate will assemble and analyze project data and prepare clear, actionable documentation that enhances design alignment and supports efficient project planning. Responsibilities include developing Level 1, 2, and 3 project schedules collaboratively with project teams, monitoring progress against established milestones, and managing job costs and labor hour tracking in line with departmental procedures.

This position specifically supports data center construction and engineering projects, requiring familiarity with their fast-paced, detail-intensive nature. Candidates should have experience in this sector or demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt to its demands.

Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of prior experience in industrial or data center engineering/construction projects is required
  • B.S. degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities; high attention to detail
  • Proficiency with ERP cost management tools
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Broad understanding of engineering or construction principles

Essential Job Duties:

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Create and manage control budgets aligned with project estimates and WBS
  • Track and report project costs throughout all project phases, including data center builds
  • Collect and analyze progress data; prepare cost-control worksheets and regular project reports
  • Review and process financial data such as accruals, invoices, purchase orders, and deliveries
  • Manage cost elements of change orders and support overall change management processes
  • Develop and track project commitments, work-in-place, and forecasts at completion
  • Produce internal and client-facing reports on project status, costs, and performance
