Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking an experienced Logistics Specialist to join their client's dynamic team in California. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily logistics operations, including the administrative oversight of shipments and traffic invoicing processes. Responsibilities

  • Oversee shipments from beginning to end, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Quote shipment costs to customers and Account Managers, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Book shipments with carriers and schedule pickups and deliveries as necessary.
  • Interact professionally with carrier sales representatives and freight customers to maintain positive relationships.
  • Assist with cargo claims by filing, providing necessary information, and updating customer information.
  • Address invoice discrepancies by researching quote history and accessorial requests.
  • Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective and efficient means of transportation.
  • Create and implement policies and procedures to govern logistics activities.
  • Negotiate transportation rates or services and execute agreements with carriers.
  • Develop and update work instructions and standard operating procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring it is always ready for operations.
  • Foster a positive work environment that supports open feedback and two-way communication at all levels.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate's degree in logistics or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in logistics, with a preference for candidates with transportation or logistics coordinator experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and a desire for professional growth.
  • Ability to assess data and performance trends for opportunities and improvements.
  • Basic statistical data analysis skills.
  • Effective and tactful communication skills for dealing with customers and employees.
  • Ability to make timely and professional decisions.

Required Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $60,000 per year, with opportunities for professional development and advancement within the company.

Additional Details

The Logistics Specialist will work in a warehouse environment, which may involve moderate to high noise levels. The role requires walking for extended periods, reaching over shoulder heights, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
