Job Description

Summary/Objective:

The EHS Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s environmental, health, and safety programs across the facility. This role provides direct leadership to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, and fosters a proactive, safety-first culture. The EHS Supervisor serves as a key point of contact for internal teams and external regulatory agencies and plays a strategic role in driving operational excellence through safety and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and enforcement of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Partner with site leadership and department heads to integrate EHS objectives into operational plans.
  • Supervise and coordinate EHS training efforts to ensure team members are properly educated on hazard recognition, emergency response, regulatory compliance, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain and manage all EHS training records, ensuring documentation is accurate, current, and audit-ready.
  • Monitor ongoing compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory bodies; coordinate and support audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action plans.
  • Analyze incident trends, near misses, and safety observations to proactively reduce risk and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Maintain and manage required EHS permits, documentation, and reporting deadlines.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness efforts, including planning, training, and leading drills to ensure site readiness.
  • Promote employee engagement in safety programs and lead recognition efforts for EHS achievements.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior EHS team members or coordinators, as applicable.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily based in a manufacturing and office environment with regular time spent on the production floor.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs/ladders as needed.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment or materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Exposure to varying noise levels, temperature conditions, and industrial environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in an EHS role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CHMM, OSHA 30) are preferred but not required.
