Job Description

Job Summary:

We are considering candidates with 7 or more years experience with commercial (office or retail) interior construction projects in order to work independently and add value to our estimating, procurement, and management of day to day construction activities in a limited portfolio of office properties within Atlanta.

This hybrid role involves managing daily field operations while assisting in the planning, coordination, and administrative functions of projects from occasional small jobs to multi-month build-outs.

The ideal candidate is someone with a strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, safety, and project documentation, who is comfortable being both in the field and in the office. Some projects will require remote management.

Key Responsibilities:

Superintendent Duties:

  • Oversee daily field operations and ensure work is performed safely, on schedule, and according to plan.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and inspections to maintain smooth workflow.
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications and building codes.
  • Conduct daily jobsite walks and maintain accurate logs and progress reports.
  • Enforce site safety policies and ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Prepare material and labor estimates for self-performed construction activities.
  • Assist in schedule and budget preparation.

Assistant Project Manager Duties:

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure timely deliveries and performance.
  • Track project costs and prepare reports for budget analysis.
  • Maintain project documentation and organize files for meetings, reporting, and closeout.
  • Attend project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and follow-up items.
  • Act as Project Manager, with minimal supervision, for smaller projects that may be valued up to $25,000 and/or involving one or two separate vendors.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in construction, with field and/or project management responsibilities.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and building systems.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Split time between office and field (jobsite).
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate active construction sites safely.
