Job Summary:

The Chief Diagnostic Officer (CDO) will lead Access Medical Labs’ overall laboratory strategy and operations, ensuring clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and scalable growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CDO will oversee all diagnostic functions, laboratory operations, and quality assurance through direct supervision of the Lab Director and Director of Quality. This role is instrumental in aligning diagnostic innovation with business strategy, enhancing laboratory throughput, and elevating operational performance across all departments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct all laboratory activities, including clinical testing, research and development, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to scale lab operations, optimize workflows, and enhance service delivery.
  • Guide and support the Lab Director and Director of Quality, ensuring robust leadership in daily operations and long-term objectives.
  • Drive innovation in diagnostic services, incorporating new technologies and methodologies that align with company growth goals.
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape organizational strategy, budgets, and expansion planning.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (CLIA, CAP, COLA, etc.) and maintain the highest quality and safety standards.
  • Serve as a key spokesperson and thought leader internally and externally on diagnostic advancements and clinical outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 10+ years in a laboratory leadership role (Director level or higher).
  • At least 5–7 years in a C-level lab leadership role, ideally in a high-volume or reference lab setting.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling laboratory operations and implementing forward-thinking diagnostic strategies.
  • Experience working in high throughput laboratory environments preferred.
  • MBA or related graduate degree required.
  • Medical Technologist license required (Supervisor License preferred, depending on state requirements).
