Job Description

We are seeking an Architectural Designer to join our dynamic team at Highmark Builders . Architectural Designer’s participate in client meetings with Salesperson, and Interior Designer, to efficiently create as-built drawings, and concept designs for remodeling, additions, and stand-alone structures. These designs are then finalized into construction drawings that are permit ready. Space planning, creative review, and structural notation are part of this collaborative process.

Pay: $75K - $85K

Location: Onsite in Savage, MN

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed architectural designs and schematics for residential projects.
  • Utilize software tools such as Chief Architect and Matterport to create accurate models and drawings.
  • Project design meetings with clients, Salesperson, and Interior Designer
  • Developing designs according to the client’s wants, needs, and investment level
  • Using design software such as Chief Architect and Matterport to effectively create buildable and permit ready plan sets
  • As-Built measures utilizing Matterport software for upcoming design projects
  • Work within timely schedules to complete architectural designs
  • Work with Interior Designers to incorporate project details into construction drawings
  • Shop drawing review (windows, structural elements)
  • Create and continuously improve project templates within Chief Architect
  • Review project estimates and subcontractor as requested
  • Communicate with project team to improve design process, drive sales, and improve profitability
  • Research and stay up on architectural styles and products for use within our designs
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations throughout the design process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or related field.
  • Proficiency using design software such as Chief Architect and Matterport to effectively create buildable and permit ready plan sets
  • Strong understanding of building codes, zoning laws, and construction practices.
  • Creative thinking in developing, designing and creating new applications and ideas
  • Knowledge of the practices and principles of architectural design and construction
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration.
  • The ability to visualize concepts and explain them to others
  • Creative problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in interior design or graphic design is a plus.
