The Walnut Creek Downtown Association (WCD) is a 501c(6) that supports, markets and advocates for its 700 business members. The organization includes the management of a newly formed 501(c3) non-profit organization, the Community Partnership for Walnut Creek Downtown (CPWCD). We are seeking a part-time team-oriented Administrative-Accounting Assistant professional.
Responsibilities:
· Manage the bookkeeping for the 2 organizations:
o Manage the accounts payable, accounts receivable, past due, invoicing, and printing checks
o Provide financial reports including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheets and various ad hoc reports
o Reconciliation of credit cards, bank accounts, PayPal and Stripe accounts
o General banking
· Manage Payroll
o ADP Payroll Processing
o Timecards
o Importing and notifications
· Executive Director support: emails, calendar, scheduling meetings, minutes, etc.
· Routine administrative and operating tasks, as assigned by the WCD team
· Retrieve voicemail and respond to general inquiry email
· Oversee the Associate Membership program (new member outreach, renewals, payments)
· Operate payment terminals and be knowledgeable of set-up/troubleshooting devices
· General website updates including adding, editing or suspending businesses
· Annual Business Improvement District (BID) renewal assistance
· Handle multiple projects simultaneously and “jump in” where needed
Skills & Requirements:
· AA/AS degree or equivalent work experience
o 3-5 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting; proficient with QuickBooks, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
· Proficient with computer programs (Microsoft Office)
· Experience with the following programs is a plus:
o MailChimp
o PayPal
o Stripe
o ADP Payroll Processing
o Canva
o Online Registration Software
· Excellent communication and decision-making skills
· Non-profit and/or grant writing experience a plus
· Must be pro-active and a self-starter
· Punctual and able to meet deadlines
· Ability to move/lift up to 25 pounds
· Must have a reliable means of transportation
Weekly Hours:
· Part-time, 20 hours a week, Monday – Friday
· In-office position
· Location: Downtown Walnut Creek
· Required to be available to work occasional night and weekend shifts for scheduled events; otherwise, available during normal business hours (9am-5pm).
Salary and Benefits:
· $28,000-$31,000 annual salary, based on experience
